Sound familiar?

Primary care isn't short of clinical skill. It's buried in the work around it.

Practice manager
"Monday's letters are still waiting on Friday."

Correspondence piles up faster than anyone can read, code and file it, and every day in the queue is a day the record is out of date.

GP partner
"I spent the evening coding, not calling patients back."

Clinical time goes on reading letters and looking up codes, work that needs checking by a clinician but not doing by one.

PCN lead
"Every practice codes the same letter differently."

Inconsistent coding means gaps in the record, missed QOF evidence and data nobody can compare across the network.

Start with Medical Coding

From incoming letter to coded record in three steps.

OvoTech takes the reading, extracting and looking up off your team, and leaves them the decision. Every suggestion comes with the evidence behind it.

It suggests the codes

SNOMED CT UK codes, each with its source text and a confidence score, checked against clinical rules before anyone sees them.

What changes

Better coding isn't just faster. It's better for the whole practice.

Clear the backlog

Letters are read and coded as they arrive, so the queue stops growing and the record stays current.

Code consistently

The same letter gets the same codes, whoever reviews it, guided by your practice coding lists and rules.

Protect QOF income

Diagnoses and findings are captured from every letter, so the evidence QOF depends on makes it into the record.

Give clinicians time back

GPs stop coding and start checking. Routine work moves to the team, with clinical oversight where it counts.

Build resilience

Holidays and sickness no longer stall coding. Anyone trained can review with OvoTech doing the heavy lifting.

Better records, better care

Structured, accurate data for every consultation, referral and audit that follows.

Who it's for

Built for everyone who carries the load.

Stop coding. Start checking.

OvoTech does the reading and the looking up. You keep the judgement, with the source text beside every suggestion and the final say on anything that touches the record.

  • Clinicians review, never transcribe
  • GP override on every suggestion
  • Operational and administrative: OvoTech makes no clinical decisions
  • Fewer evenings lost to correspondence

A coding operation that runs itself.

Set the rules once and OvoTech applies them to every letter: which documents to process, who reviews what, which codes to include and what to escalate.

  • Rules changed in the browser, fully versioned
  • Review thresholds by document type
  • Clear visibility of the queue and turnaround
  • Resilience when staff are away

Consistent data across the network.

Roll OvoTech out across practices on the same platform, the same governance and the same coding standard, and see the picture across the whole population.

  • One configuration, applied everywhere
  • Comparable data for every practice
  • Population Health Intelligence for cohorts and outreach
  • DTAC, DSPT and DCB0129/0160 in place
Not a black box

Every suggestion shows its working.

Your reviewers never have to take OvoTech on trust. They see where each code came from, how confident it is, and which rules it passed.

Operational AI, not clinical decision-making.

OvoTech is not a medical device and does not make clinical decisions. It is certified to the standards the NHS asks for, logs every action and keeps the clinician in control.

FAQs

Questions practices ask first.

All FAQs →
Does OvoTech make clinical decisions?+

No. OvoTech is operational and administrative. It is not a medical device and does not make clinical decisions. It suggests, and an authorised person reviews and decides.

Which systems does it work with?+

EMIS and SystmOne through NHS IM1, Docman for incoming correspondence, and HL7 FHIR for standards-based exchange across the NHS.

What happens when the AI isn’t sure?+

Borderline suggestions are flagged for careful review. Where confidence is low, OvoTech makes no suggestion at all and the item goes to manual coding.

Can we set our own coding rules?+

Yes. Document types, reviewers, thresholds, coding lists, routing and escalation are all set per practice, and changed in the browser.

Where is patient data stored?+

In the UK. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest and handled as special-category data under UK GDPR.
